When you create a Guuzo account we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and profile photos. We also collect information about how you use the platform — such as profiles you view, matches you make, and messages you send.
We automatically collect certain technical data when you use the service, including your IP address, device type, browser type, and usage patterns. This helps us keep the platform secure and improve your experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Guuzo
- Match you with compatible travel companions
- Send verification codes and important account notices
- Personalise your feed and recommendations
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety issues
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With other users — your public profile (name, photos, bio, interests) is visible to other Guuzo members
- With service providers — we use third-party services (Supabase, Stripe, Twilio) to operate the platform under strict data processing agreements
- For legal reasons — when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
5. Your Rights

6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Guuzo is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of Guuzo after changes means you accept the updated policy.
